What do YOU call them? |
Immunizations? Vaccines?
Inoculations? or simply SHOTS?
|
|
Why must we have our "SHOTS"? |
| SHOTS or
immunizations give us immunity
to some of the world's most
serious and deadliest diseases.
Having immunizations not only prevents the
disease from developing in your child, but it
also protects other children in your
neighborhood and other children across the
country and the world.
|
|
What happens if immunizations are not
administered? |
|
If immunizations are not administered, diseases
such as measles, mumps, or rubella can develop
in your child. This will cause serious
illness, possibly death of your child.
Having the immunization will give your child the
immunity they need against these diseases,
before they
have a chance of becoming ill.
|
|
Who needs to have immunizations? |
| Many people believe that SHOTS
are just for kids. They're NOT! As adults, getting
your shots can help prevent you from getting
serious illnesses as well, such
as pneumococcal disease,
tetanus, shingles,
influenza, and hepatitis B.
|
|
When is the best time to receive
immunizations? |
| Immunizations work best when
administered at a certain age.
