This Public Hearing of the Scipio Town Board was called to order at 7:15 pm with the following members present:

Supervisor: Charles Howell

Council Members: Phil Buckhout

Gary Goodnough

Greg Rury

Gary Whitten

Clerk: Judith Rowlands

Guests: Code Enforcement Officer Fred Delaney

Town Attorney James Baier

Howard Nelson

Janet Shea

The purpose of this hearing was for discussion of the proposed Local Law # 1 for 2000 entitled: “Amending Local Law No. 3 for the year 1989, Zoning Law of the Town of Scipio, specifically, adding New Article XII regulating the construction and maintenance of telecommunication facilities”.

Supervisor Chuck Howell opened the floor for questions. Howard Nelson said that he appreciated the law’s requirement that attempts be made to share towers rather than increase the numbers of them. Both Howard Nelson and Janet Shea indicated a concern regarding noise and environmental pollution, and a desire for tight, conservative controls regarding telecommunication towers.

The hearing was adjourned at 7:30 pm.
