This special meeting of the Scipio Town Board was called to order at 7:30 pm with the following members present:

Supervisor: Charles Howell

Council Members: Phil Buckhout

Gary Goodnough

Greg Rury

Gary Whitten

Clerk: Judith Rowlands

Highway Superintendent Ron Walter

Guest Chuck Weeks, Engineer/Architect

Supervisor Howell announced that the purpose of this meeting is to meet with Engineer Chuck Weeks and consider design and planning of the new Town Building.

Gary Goodnough introduced Chuck Weeks, who shared examples of architect’s drawings for Junius Firehouse and Horseheads American Legion. He advised attention to detail and accuracy in planning in order to minimize the need for changes once construction is in progress. He recommended requiring a performance bond. He indicated that an engineer could provide greater or lesser scope of service according to need.

After Chuck left, the board discussed Weeks’ presentation, and also information which Ron Walter had received from the EPA regarding drainage options.

Motion: To ask Chuck Weeks to prepare a cost proposal based on the current drawing and present it at the next regular meeting of the Town Board, Wednesday July 12^th.

(Buckhout/Whitten). All in favor.

Supervisor Howell reported that he will be out of town the last week of July and first week of August. Deputy Supervisor is Gary Goodnough.

Motion: To adjourn the meeting at 8:15 pm, as there was no other business.

Regular July Town Board Meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday July 11^th at 7:30 pm. Agenda will include review of Architect’s proposal. There will be no meeting on Wednesday July 12^th.
