This regular
meeting of the Scipio Town Board was called to order at 7:30 pm with the
following members present:

MOTION: To accept the
minutes of the previous regular meeting.
(Goodnough/Buckhout). All in
favor.
GUESTS:
Residents of Healy Road discussed drainage problems on Healy Road with
the board and Highway Superintendent Ron Walter. Lee Holmes requested the board reconsider its decision to erect
a fence on the Healy Road town property, indicating that the public using the right of way has not
been a problem.
MOTION: To send a
letter stating that fencing of the Healy Road town property is on hold, The
Holmes family may continue to mow the area, with the understanding that there
be no interference with public access.
TOWN BUILDING: Chuck
Weeks reported building code requirements which were discussed. The Board requested Weeks do further
research into building options.
COMMUNICATIONS:
OLD BUSINESS: Attorney Baier submitted proposed Local Law # 2 for 2000,
entitled:
“Amending Local Law No. 3 for the year 1989,
Zoning Law of the Town of Scipio,
specifically, approval of Planned
Development District-2.”
RESOLUTION: That a public
hearing shall be held on the said proposed Local Law before this Town Board on
August 24 , 2000 at 7: 00 P.M. at the Scipio Town Hall, in the Town of Scipio,
New York, and that at least ten (10) days notice of said hearing shall be given
by publishing the same at least once in the official newspaper of the Town of
Scipio. All in favor.
RESOLUTION: That
the attorney for the Town of Scipio shall cause referral and delivery to be
made of a full statement of said proposed Local Law to the Cayuga County
Planning Board for purposes of obtaining the Cayuga County Planning Board's
recommendations and report as required pursuant to the provisions of Sections
239‑1 and 239‑m of the General Municipal Law of the State of New
York. All in favor.
MOTION: To erect the
following sign at the town properties at Ensenore Road and Healy Road: “Town of Scipio Right of Way.
Please respect neighbors’ peace and privacy.
No open fires.
Site closes at sunset.”
(Howell/Buckhout). All in favor.
HIGHWAY SUPERINTENDENT: Ron Walter reported the activities
of the month.
MOTION: To accept
Supervisor’s Reports for May 2000.(Goodnough/Whitten)
All in favor.
NEW BUSINESS: Supervisor
Howell announced that budget estimates for the fiscal year 2001 should be
submitted by the next meeting.
RESOLUTION: To make the following
budget modifications:
Transfer $ 434.03 to DA9055.8
Highway employee Disability Insurance from DA9010.8 Highway Retirement
Account, and
Transfer $ 39,813.38 to DA9550.9 Capital
Project – Grader
from DA5130.9. (Howell/Buckhout). All in favor.
MOTION: To appoint the following as Election
Inspectors:

Dawn DeVaul R Marion
Hammond D
Helen Hoffman R Cathy Komarisky D
Barbara Tuft R (Howell/Whitten). All in favor.
MOTION: To accept and
approve the following bills for payment from the audited vouchers.

MOTION: To adjourn the meeting at 9:57 pm.
