This regular meeting was called to order at 7:38 pm by Supervisor Chuck Howell with the following present:

Absent:             Gary Whitten

 

MOTION:                   To accept the minutes of the February 9, 2005 regular meeting as written. (Buckhout/Goodnough).   All in favor.

 

Supervisor Howell welcomed the visitors.   County Legislator George Fearon was not able to be here, as he was

attending a land claim meeting. 

 

COMMUNICATIONS:

a.            Received Court fees of $2995.00

b.            Association of Town’s Legislative Program

c.            Property Tax reform and sample resolution from the Association of Towns

d.            Temporary Assignment of Judges Agreement

 

MOTION:                   To approve signing the Temporary Assignment of Judges Agreement. 

                                    (Howell/Rury).  All in favor.

 

HIGHWAY SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT:  Ron reported that the new pick up truck has been ordered. 

The snowplow had some minor damage which will be taken care of.   He received a letter requesting

that the town refrain from spraying adjacent to an organic farm on Ensenore Road.  The board agreed to honor

this request.  There was discussion regarding upgrading the loader.

 

NEW BUSINESS:  The Board set April 30th  as Spring Clean up Day.  The Town newsletter will be coming out

in April.  Supervisor Howell recommended that the town positions up for reelection be listed in the newsletter.

The offices for 2006 are Supervisor, Town Clerk/Collector, 2 members of the Town Council, Justice, and

Highway Superintendent. There was discussion about setting up a policy for employee retirement benefits.

 

MOTION:                   To approve the purchase of a new loader as described by Highway

                                    Superintendent Ron Walter.  (Howell/Buckhout).  All in favor.

 

MOTION:                   To approve the Supervisor’s Monthly Reports for January 2005.

                                    (Goodnough/Rury).  All in favor.

                       

MOTION:                               To accept and approve the following vouchers for payment:         

                                    General:   Vouchers #   39-52              $3452.27

                                    Highway:  Vouchers #  15-26                4243.52

                                    TOTAL                                                7695.79

                                    (Goodnough/Rury). All in favor.

 

MOTION:            To adjourn the meeting at 8:34 pm. (Goodnough/Howell).  All in favor.

 

The next regular Town Board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday April 13, 2005 at 7:30 pm.
