This regular meeting was called to order at 7:35 pm by Supervisor Chuck
Howell with the following present:

MOTION: To accept the minutes of the August 8, 2007 meeting as written. (Rury/Buckhout).
All in favor.
Supervisor Howell welcomed the visitors. Mark Vorreuter shared that as a resident of Sherwood
he is interested in the historic significance of the hamlet, and plans to talk with his neighbors to see
what kind of interest there is in the restoration of the Sherwood Cemetery. Pat White will be emailing
an article for the Town Newsletter. George Fearon reported on county activities and answered
questions.
COMMUNICATIONS:
a. Court fees $3225.00 received for 2nd quarter
b. County Real Property exemption income rates raised for Seniors & Disabled
c. Technology & Owasco Lake Stewardship Activities workshops
d. County is looking into a change in Workers Comp
e. County Supervisors meeting 9/27 (Workers Comp on agenda)
f. Training on SEQR requirements @ county office building 10-1
g. NYMIR snow removal safety seminar – information to be passed on to Highway
Superintendent
h. Grant writing seminar
i. Scipio Planning Board/Comprehensive Plan Committee meeting 9-13 at 7.
j. Reminder: Clean Up Day 10-6; Rabies

OLD
BUSINESS:
a. The routine septic inspection was done July 17th.
b. 2 bids were received for tree removal at Sherwood cemetery
c. Instant Aid Ambulance towns met; next meeting Sept. 18th. All are encouraged to go.
MOTION: To hire Cranebrook Tree Service to do the tree work at Sherwood Cemetery for
bid of $700.00. (Howell/Rury) All in favor.
MOTION: To appoint Scott Snyder as Town Assessor for the term 10-1-2007 through 9-30-2013.
(Buckhout/Howell). All in favor.
MOTION: To appoint Susan Jayne to serve on the Board of Assessment Review for the term
10-1-2007 through 9-30-2012. (Howell/Buckhout). All in favor.
NEW
BUSINESS:
a. There was brief discussion of the responses of town officers to Budget 2008 estimate
requests, and other budget issues. Chuck requested that the clerk provide a report on revenue
from Building Permits over the past several years.
b. There are some health insurance options available. Chuck will ask Bill Chamberlain if
he could attend the November meeting to explain these options.
MOTION: To approve the Supervisor’s Monthly Reports for July 2007.
(Goodnough/Buckhout). All in favor.
MOTION: To accept and approve the following vouchers for payment:
General: Vouchers # 134-149 $ 4.410.67
Highway: Vouchers # 57-60 $ 58,347.26
TOTAL $ 62,757.93

MOTION: To adjourn the meeting at 9:00 pm. (Buckhout/Howell). All in favor.
