This regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Supervisor Keith Batman with the following present:

WELCOME GUESTS: Anthony Reuter asked about the status of bringing broadband to Scipio, and Supervisor Batman summarized progress, and reported that the town in partnership with other towns and Clarity Connect has submitted an application for stimulus grant funds. We are waiting for a response. George Fearon reported that the county is in the process of working on a wireless connection project for 911 emergency communications, which may affect availability of wireless Internet access for residents of the county.  Ken Keppel reported on drainage problems on Firelane 20; Highway Superintendent Ron Walter agreed to give it his attention and see what solutions are possible.

Highway Superintendent:  Ron Walter reported on equipment maintenance, and said that the town will not be plowing for the county this year.

Comprehensive Plan Committee:  Keith Welch reported that the last meeting was not well attended.  Keith Batman agreed to call Jeanie Gleisner for a status report.

Elected Officials:  George Fearon offered information that the town could make restrictions about building in areas with drainage concerns through changes in the Zoning Law.


OLD BUSINESS:

The Cayuga County Fire Mutual Aid Annex was circulated, and copies will be available for review at the town office. Vote will be taken at the February 10th meeting.
 
POINTS OF INFORMATION:
Sales Tax received for 2009 was $74,007 as compared to $78,422 in 2008.

The next regular meeting is scheduled for Wednesday February 10th at 7:00 pm. Zoning Officer Mike O’Connor will be presenting an update report, and imposing penalties for permit violations will be addressed. Mark Malys will not be able to attend the meeting.
