Village of Weedsport Police Department works on a part-time basis. To leave a message for the Police (Officer In Charge, Greg Gilfus), contact the Village Hall at (315) 834-6634. Please note, this is NOT an emergency number. In case of emergency, contact the Cayuga County Sheriff's Department by dialing 911.

Refuse Collection is made on Monday, except for legal holidays, when it is delayed until Tuesday. Refuse must be placed at the curb in clear bags by 7 a.m. and have a Refuse Bag Sticker affixed. Stickers cost $1 each and are available at the Village Office, Town Office and the Pit Stop. Large Items also require special stickers which are available at the Village Office only. These are $5 each. One sticker is required for large items weighing less than 50 pounds, 2 for items over 50 pounds, and 3 for each mattress and spring set. We do not take building materials or tires.

Recycling is mandatory. A free permit is required for Village residents. Replacement permits are $2 each. Town residents must pay for an annual permit to use the recycling center, $25.00/year. The following items may be brought to the Recycling Center in the DPW area on Earl St. - newspaper, corrugated cardboard, clear, green and brown glass, plastic milk jugs and #2 plastic (usually detergent type bottles), tin & aluminum cans. All items must be clean with labels and bottle tops removed. Hours at recycling are Thursday 9-5 p.m., and Saturday 7-3 p.m.

Chipping of Brush is done the second Tuesday of the month, April thru October only. Brush must be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. All trunks must face the same way and the pile must be no larger than 4' high, 6' deep and 8' long. Diameter of material should be no more than 6".

Water & Sewer Bills - are issued jointly and should be received on the first day of February, May, August and November.

All bills are payable in the month issued. On the first day of the following month a 20% penalty is assessed. Bills may be paid by mail or at the Village Office, 8892 South St. There is a night slot in the front of the building for persons unable to stop during regular working hours. Delinquent notices are sent 10 days prior to shut off. If you do not receive a bill by the 4th of the month, please call the Village Office.

Water meters must be kept accessible. Your meter is located in the basement or crawl space of your home. The remote reader is located outside.
