The objective of the Owasco Lake Watershed Inspection Program is to help protect and enhance Owasco Lake as a potable water source. Owasco Lake is a valuable resource for the City of Auburn and Cayuga County. Owasco Lake is a drinking water supply for approximately 45,000 residents in Cayuga County therefore the protection of the water supply is important for both health and economic reasons.
